Framing Visualization – “Picture It First”

We recently acquired a wonderful tool to help you visualize your finished framing project at the front counter. The system is called “Picture It First,” and it works like this: We design a beautiful combination of frame, mats, fillets or whatever your project needs. PIF with Two Samples We take a digital photograph of your art. The software does its magic to show us a pretty good approximation of what your piece will look like when complete. It is also helpful to show cropping of photos or art. It lets us experiment with different sizes of mats and frames. It even lets us see your framed piece on the color of your walls!

PIF Finished Product Oh, the wonder of technology! We have always prided ourselves on being out in front in terms of the use of technology, especially when it helps us serve you better. Framers are notoriously slow to embrace new technology, but we are always looking for new and better ways to make your art look great. We were one of the first frame shops in town to use computerized pricing, and we have your framing records back to 1989. We were very early adopters of pneumatic v-nailers to join your wood frames without unsightly nail holes. We have had a computerized mat cutter since they became widely available in the mid-90’s. In fact, we’re already on our second one, a much-improved model. We think “Picture It First” will be very helpful to you when you find it difficult to imagine what the finished framing will look like. Stop in sometime with your summer vacation art and photos. We would love to show off our new toy!
