English Arts & Crafts Buffet and Hutch with Art Nouveau Hammered Copper Panels and Hardware
This quarter-sawn oak buffet and hutch has turned spindles, cutouts, Art Nouveau hardware, and hammered copper panels depicting Art Nouveau women. It has keyed locks on the cabinet doors and the drawers, and we have the keys. The copper panels are signed and are by Albert Reimann, who was born in Poland in 1874. In 1902 he founded the famous Reimann School of Art and Design in Berlin and immigrated to London in 1937, where he re-established his school, which was the first commercial art school in Britain. He died in London in 1976. He was 102 years old. Mr. Reimann had a great influence on the art and design of his age. $3200.
